Accommodations

Toggles display of answer on click. When is check-in and check-out for lodging and camping?

Lodging guest check-in begins at 11:00 a.m. and room access is available starting at 1:00 p.m. Guests are welcome to arrive at 11:00 a.m. to check-in and enjoy lunch prior to room availability. Camping/Tent City guest check-in begins at 11:00 a.m. and may access their campsite immediately upon arrival. Check-out for all guests is 10:30 a.m.

You need to have at least 25 people to reserve all of the Red Creek Lodge. You need to have at least 80 people to reserve all of the Tabby Mountain Lodge. To reserve both sides of the Bunkhouse you will need at least 28.

All our lodging areas come with hotel comforts. You may find more details in our Guest Ranch Vacation Guide as well as a list of suggested items you might want to bring.

Toggles display of answer on click. What is the difference between Tent City and Camping Area sites?

Tent City is an area where we provide tents on platforms, while guests who stay in the Camping Area need to bring their own tents. All Tent City and camping guests bring their own sleeping bags, pads, pillows, and towels. Please note that cots are not allowed in Tent City tents. Both areas offer flushed toilets and showers for guests to use.

At 7,800 feet in elevation, daytime temperatures at the ranch typically range from 70–85°F during peak summer (late June and July), with cooler evenings. Early June can be significantly cooler, especially in the mornings and at night. Sunscreen is strongly recommended, and a warm jacket is advised for evening and early morning hours throughout the season.

Orientation is a brief welcome where our staff gathers the group to review Ranch venues and activities and answer any questions. During orientation, each guest will receive an official wristband once their Release of Liability waiver, completed prior to arrival, has been confirmed.

Toggles display of answer on click. Can I put up decorations in the lodging area I am staying in, and are there any rules about crafting inside?

Yes. Guests are welcome to decorate their lodging area. When hanging decorations, only blue painter’s tape may be used to avoid damage to ranch property.

Crafting is also welcome; however, any activities involving glue, irons, or other heat-producing tools must be done outdoors. All decorations and craft materials must be removed at the end of your stay, and guests are responsible for any damage.

Yes, in both the Red Creek and Tabby Mountain lodges. The Red Creek Lodge also has a full freezer.

Toggles display of answer on click. What lodging is provided for male leaders during a girls’ camp stay?

Male leaders will be housed in our Guesthouse, which includes two separate rooms—one accommodating up to four guests and the other up to six. Male leaders from different groups may share a room. As an alternative, male leaders may choose to bring a tent and camp in our designated camping area.

Pets are not permitted. In accordance with ADA guidelines, certified service animals are welcome.



Location and Connectivity

Click here for driving directions. The ranch is located approximately 100 miles southeast of Salt Lake City in Duchesne County in Hanna, Utah.

Toggles display of answer on click. Are there any dirt roads to the ranch?

Once you turn off the highway in Fruitland, Utah, the ranch is approximately 13 miles away, and 11 of those miles are on dirt road. A high clearance vehicle is suggested but not necessary.

Toggles display of answer on click. Does the ranch have cell phone service and/or Wi-Fi?

There is no cell phone service, but the ranch has landline phones for guests to use. The number to call the ranch during the summer is 435-848-5776. Wi-Fi is available on a limited basis.


Activities

Toggles display of answer on click. Where can I find the online Release of Liability waiver that needs to be submitted before I arrive at the Ranch?

An email containing a link to the waiver will be sent 30 days prior to arrival, or once your final payment has been processed.

Please click here for a list of included activities. All sports equipment can be checked out at the Trading Post. Each group is given a rotation schedule which dictates what times your group will be doing each activity. View a Sample Schedule here.

While each fire pit can accommodate a group of varying sizes, the Conference Center is a private area that can be reserved on a first come first serve basis upon arrival for large groups.

Toggles display of answer on click. Is there a way to hook up a computer system to the projector in the conference room?

We have HDMI and VGA/SVGA cable hookups to connect laptops or other devices to our projector.  Please note that guests NEED to provide all the hookup cables.

Yes. The Ranch offers two hikes: the Sunrise Hike, which is approximately one mile round trip, and the Fossil Mountain Hike, which is approximately two miles round trip.

All guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a campfire each evening during their stay.

Toggles display of answer on click. How many people can go horseback riding, mountain biking, and to the lake at a time?

Horseback riding can accommodate up to 18 participants, the lake activities can host 50, and mountain biking can take up to 16 people.

Toggles display of answer on click. Do you offer a one-hour horseback ride?

We offer a Sunset Horseback Ride for those who like a longer ride experience.

Toggles display of answer on click. Is there an age limit to ride a horse on the trail?

Trail rides are for guests who are 10 and older. Children from age 3 to 9 enjoy horseback rides in the corral with a wrangler walking beside the horse.

Toggles display of answer on click. Can I fish on Ranch property and what type of fish does the lake have?

Yes. All-natural cutthroat and rainbow trout are found in the lake. It is catch and release, and fishing licenses and equipment are not provided.
